Students are deep in their project in the Team Humanities unit, “Becoming Braver.” Students are writing an essay to compare how two characters, one from their most recent literature circle book and one from another book they’ve read this year, change over time.
In doing this essay, students are working on their introductory and concluding sentences, how to organize a paragraph, and how to weave in a relevant quotation from their text. Our students have also been growing the amount of time they can do focused writing. It’s been hard work, but our students have a lot to be proud about! As they complete their essays this week, students will move into the next phase of their project. Working with their literature circle groups, they will determine common themes in their essays as we explore, in general, how do individuals become braver over time?
